About solar cells


Each solar cell produce an average of 0.5V and 9.18A for a total of 4.59W at 19.2% efficiency, different cells materials will produce more ore less. The material to protect the solar cells has a great impact on its performance over time. The most effective way to protect them is thought the usage of transparent glass, not acrylic or resin which tend to yellow in a matter of one year max.
A solar panel is warrantied to produce at 90% of its capacity for the first 10 years and at 80% another ten years, the maximum life of a panel is around 30 years. After that time has passed only the solar cell need to be replace.
A solar panel is pretty much maintenance free. However, dust and impurities on the surface of the glass would affect its power efficiency.
